Who's Fault?

I dont usually take my sweet time reading newspaper everyday, unless there's something really juicy or important like war or paris hilton died... or something... But today, among the tragic stories of flood in Manila and earthquake in Indonesia, there was an article about a new-born baby found near the docks at west beach of Malaysia, probably washed to shore...

My heart felt saddened for the baby, and angry at the mother, for having the heart to actually commit something that cruel... But who is to blame here? I highly agree that there's no excuse for what the bitch did, but let's put ourselves in her shoes. And dont bulls with me about you "wouldnt ever be in that position!" crap. Because i know at one point, we've all been bad, just some people got unlucky and had to pay the price. And this dumb fellow, chose to throw her baby away, killing it, as in thinking that she's deleting her mistakes and problems, with hope it won't haunt her.

In US or UK, illegimate babies are born practically every 2 seconds or less. But with the society people live in, and way of thinking, they accepted these babies with open arms, treating them no less like normal babies and respecting the mother for being a strong single mother. But this could never happened here, because our mind are set to thinking that illegimate (mind the spelling) babies are "bastards" that don't deserve to live the day, and the mothers are whores who have sinned and must be shunt from the society.

I wonder if someday, we would be positive about this issue, and learn to accept that people make mistakes and to actually take the responsibilty to help them and guide them.. Or maybe i just live in dreamworld where nothing is too much to ask for. But think about it, if we're willing to think out if the box and learn to forgive, help and guide, how many babies in this country we can save?
